Concern for Displaced along the Border as Syrian Military Closes In

The Institute remains deeply concerned about the well-being of Syrians massing along the Syria-Turkey border.  News outlets this morning reported the consolidation of Syrian military personnel and equipment within a few miles of the refugee population.  The latest unrest has resulted in 500 to 1,500 refugees crossing into Turkey daily, according to UNHCR.

The International Institute of New England takes no position in any political conflict.  The Institute always condemns violence targeted at innocent civilians.  The Institute advocates for the well-being and safety of refugees and other forcibly displaced people.
