The Institute resettled tens of refugee seniors during fiscal year 2011. The Cultural Orientation Resource Center, with funding from the Office of Refugee Resettlement, has now published resources for service providers on the needs and concerns of refugee seniors living in the United States. The resources include an 11-minute video, a guide to providing orientations, and lesson plans for ESL providers. The Center has also produced documents for refugee seniors, themselves. Languages covered include: three forms of Arabic, Burmese, Karen, Nepali, and Somali.
